VETS PLACE CENTRAL
Vets Place Central is located at 3330 W. Wells Street. It was previously accommodating 74 veterans in shared rooms designed for single occupancy. Vets Place Central has been a vital resource for the community for nearly three decades.
In 2022, CVI announced plans to renovate and expand Vets Place Central, which serves homeless veterans or those at risk of becoming homeless.
As part of the redevelopment plans, the facility underwent extensive renovations and a four-story addition, providing each veteran with a private room while creating improved community spaces for comprehensive supportive services.

The renovation and expansion transformed the vision for veteran care into reality by creating private rooms, welcoming community spaces, and enhanced support areas where veterans can heal, rebuild, and move forward. With access to CVI staff and programs, including vocational support, healthcare resources, and the mental wellness center next door, veterans now have the tools and support needed to achieve greater stability and an improved quality of life.
RENOVATION GOALS

NEW AMENITIES AT VPC
- Club room with spaces for gathering and events
- Cafeteria with food hall, prepared meals, and dining spaces
- Fitness center with a variety of equipment
- Shared laundry facilities for resident use
- Library with a variety of books and resources
- Game / craft room for entertainment and socializing
- Clothing room for those in need
- Media center with computers for resident use
- Private resident storage available
- Outdoor patio with a community lounge area
- Walking distance to grocers, convenience stores, and park spaces
- One block from Milwaukee County Transit System’s high-frequency route on 35th Street, which runs every 15 minutes or less
- Club room with spaces for gathering and events
- Cafeteria with food hall, prepared meals, and dining spaces
- Fitness center with a variety of equipment
- Shared laundry facilities for resident use
- Library with a variety of books and resources
- Game / craft room for entertainment and socializing
- Clothing room for those in need

Who is Eligible for Housing at Vets Place Central?
To be eligible for the supportive housing offered at Vets Place Central, individuals must:
- Be a veteran, of honorable discharge status
- Have a disability, or be 55+ years of age
- Have at least 180 days of documented sobriety
- Be willing to stay alcohol- and drug-free
- Have stable income: employment, SSDI, SSI, veterans’ benefits, etc
