Vets Place Central

Renovation & Expansion Project

VETS PLACE CENTRAL

Vets Place Central is located at 3330 W. Wells Street. Currently accommodating 74 veterans in shared rooms designed for single occupancy, Vets Place Central has been a vital resource for the community for nearly three decades.

In 2022, CVI announced plans to renovate and expand Vets Place Central, which serves homeless veterans or those at risk of becoming homeless.

With the redevelopment plans, the facility will undergo extensive renovations and a four-story addition, granting each veteran their own private room while creating improved community spaces for receiving comprehensive support services.

RENOVATION GOALS

The goal of the renovation and expansion is to create successful outcomes for those we serve by providing all veterans the opportunity to have private room accommodations vs. shared spaces, giving our veterans the chance to heal and eventually move to a permanent housing situation with the support from the CVI staff and programs helping to set them up for success.

Additionally, veterans will have access to vocational support and access to needed healthcare, including a newly completed on-site mental wellness program, to accelerate an improved quality of life for the veterans and their families.
