Transitional Housing Program (THP)
On any given night, CVI houses, feeds, and provides reintegration services to more than 300 Veterans. Success is achieved when a Veteran has a source of income, physical, mental, and spiritual health, as well as a place to call their own.
Without a safe environment with supportive housing and services, many Veterans could not break the cycle of homelessness and move on to jobs and permanent housing.
Our Transitional Housing Programs and Services offer secure housing for homeless male and female Veterans, paired with supportive services designed to assist Veterans in reintegrating into the community.

Grant and Per Diem (GPD) Eligibility
To be eligible for the GPD in the Transitional Housing Program, Veterans must be homeless at the time of applying. They may be evaluated at Vets Place Central.

Single Room Occupancy (SRO) Permanent Housing
Located at Vets Place Central and Vets Place North
Eligibility Criteria
- Have a disability or be 55 years and older
- Have at least 90 days of documented clean time
- Must be willing to stay alcohol and drug-free
- Stable income
- Willing to abide by SRO program rules, including meeting with case management on a regular basis
Transition in Place (TIP)
Our Focus
The Transition in Place (TIP) Program is a time-limited transitional housing assistance where the Veteran takes over the lease as their permanent housing (scattered sites) within 6-12 months. TIP is a housing model that serves AODA free homeless Veterans and homeless Veterans with children. Veteran (and their families) participants can move into one or two-bedroom units that CVI will lease and eventually transition leases to the Veteran participants.
TIP Eligibility
The TIP model focuses on services that include supportive services and income attainment. Veteran participants will be required to pay a monthly program fee, which is around 30% of their household income.
To be eligible for the Transition In Place (TIP) Program, Veterans must be homeless at the time of applying. They may be present at Vets Place Central for evaluation.
