The SSG Fox Suicide Prevention Grant Program (SSG Fox SPGP) is dedicated to decreasing the incidence of suicide among Veterans. At the heart of our mission is the commitment to enhance the overall well-being and mental health foundation of Veterans. We achieve this through fostering social connections and facilitating access to both VA and external community resources. Our multifaceted approach emphasizes personalized support, aiming to build resilience and a supportive network for Veterans, thereby contributing to the prevention of suicide within this valued community.

Discharged or released under conditions other than dishonorable.
SCREENING
Mental health and well-being screening to verify some risk factors for suicide
FOUND TO BE AT RISK
Be evaluated and found to be at risk of suicide using the Columbia-Suicide Severity Rating Scale (C-SSRS)
Also Available to Family of Veteran
- Over the age of 18
- Only eligible to begin services after an eligible Veteran is enrolled and engaged in the program

Referrals to community resources,
activities, and peer support specialists
EDUCATION
Providing educational material on recognizing
suicidal thinking and lethal means safety
EMERGENT NEEDS ASSISTANCE
Connection to services for transportation,
income support, child care, and more

- Gun safes
- General stability funds include:
