Unemployment/Underemployment

Eighty-nine percent of those who seek services at CVI are unemployed.  CVI addresses this challenge in multiple ways including:

  • Job training (link to “Educational Deficit”)
  • Job coaching
  • Job creation
  • Partnering with strategic allies who are creatively addressing the same issues.

Veteran Workforce Investment Program (VWIP)

(*Wisconsin received one of ten Department of Labor grants awarded in the United States.)

Are you a:

  • recently discharged veteran? (discharged within the last 48 months, served in a war or campaign)
  • disabled veteran? (service-connected disabled)
  • veteran who is having a hard time finding a job? (significant barriers to employment)

SERVICES:

  • Military to civilian occupation skills translation for resumes
  • Partnering with  employers to provide competitive job placement
  • Vocational assessment & career counseling to assist veterans in the transition from military to civilian careers
  • Identify military skills and training to obtain civilian occupations through licensing & re-credentialing
  • Identification of specialized educational needs & financial planning assistance
  • Transfer of military training transcripts to college credit
  • Veteran benefits & claim,s counseling services
  • Peer-to-peer supportive services
